Singapore's Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Teo Chee Hean's Recent Visit To His Alma Mater - The University of Manchester

During his recent visit to Manchester on 27 March 2018 to meet with the Mayor of Greater Manchester Andy Burnham, our country’s Deputy Prime Minister (DPM) Teo Chee Hean returned to his alma mater, The University of Manchester, where he met with Singaporean students studying there.

DPM Teo graduated with a Bachelor of Science (First Class Honours) in Electrical Engineering and Management Science from The University of Manchester in 1976. Currently, he is the Patron for The University of Manchester Alumni Association of Singapore.

During his visit to Manchester, DPM Teo was impressed with the University’s research efforts in areas such as 2D materials, healthcare and energy, to which he mentioned that both Manchester and Singapore have a strong shared interest in.
