Empowering Youth Through Art – CSR Event

On 8 December 2018, Manchester Business School Singapore Centre in collaboration with Art For Good (AFG), held our annual CSR event in line with this year’s theme ‘Empowering Youth Through Art’.

Our AMBS Alumni, Ms Andrea Abbate & UOM Alumni, Mr Willard Ng, both shared inspiring stories of their dreams and how they overcome difficulties and obstacles to achieve them.

Following the motivational talks, 10 of our student and alumni volunteers paired up with youths aged between 8-16 to co-create an art piece based on the theme of ‘Empowerment’, where the youths were able to express their dreams and future ambitions through art.

The youths were then treated to a hearty ‘Pizza & Fried Chicken Party’ after completing their art work, and ate to their heart’s content.

Now, we’re inviting YOU to join us to EMPOWER A YOUTH today through our charity sales. Each artwork is priced at $100 (except the 3 most popular art pieces at $120 each) and total proceeds of all artworks sold would be donated to the Youth from the Expedition Agape (EA) programme. The Expedition Agape (EA) is a programme of Lakeside Family Services, that transforms and empowers the lives of teenagers through intentional mentoring by adult volunteers and a structured programme over a period of 6 months, developing the participants as “Leaders in Action”.

Each artwork sold will fund the programme and educational materials for ONE youth participant of the Expedition Agape for 2 sessions (or over 2-weeks). Purchase an artwork (http://artforgood.sg/shop/) to Empower A Youth Today!
